Me In Motion

So, I'm taking the first step. I've decided to start blogging about my work in and enjoyment of various artistic expressions, specifically in graphic design, motion graphics, videos, art/drawing, film/movies, and music.

I've enjoyed reading blogs by professionals who have documented their creative process; and while I am in no way at the same level of these professionals, I had this crazy notion that it'd be good for me to begin documenting my process as well.

I'm a temp in the Zonderkidz Marketing Department at Zondervan (since October '08) and I'll occasionally be given some video projects to create videos for the Zonderkidz picture books. I went through a tutorial book for Final Cut Pro 6 in March/April and have been picking up Motion 3 as I go.

Because of my work so far, I've also gained a freelancing video project from the Zonderkidz team for the Jesus Storybook Bible Deluxe Edition. Since this will be taking up a ton of my free time in the near future, I'll be documenting a lot of my process through this project - so stay tuned for that. I'll give you a teaser: I'll be working with 2.5D videos. You can see an example of the work and result of a 2.5D video here.

In addition to documenting my creative process, I'll also be posting various graphic design work that I've done for Zonderkidz, Ada Pathway Church, and some things from my past time in Australia, Cornerstone University, and High School.

If I'm coming up dry (or get sick of posting about myself and my work), I'll be posting videos or graphic design pieces that I come across that I like.

I have a gorgeous wife and two awesome little boys (1 yr 8 months, and 8 months). With this hectic life we live, my wife and I will occasionally get a chance to go see a movie or rent one. I enjoy movies a lot, so I'll probably post a quick thought or two about the most recent film I see.

Lastly, I am a music junkie - so I'll probably try to throw in a post here and there about the music I'm listening to and recommendations for artists I come across.

This is by far the most verbose I want to be on this blog. I have a lot of things going, so this blog will probably drop down on my list of priorities at times, and therefore I'll want to just throw up a quick note. I hope you enjoy the posts that are to come....
